Ecuador is the leading shrimp exporter now. India fell to number 2 position. Your video is not accurate.
Let’s check the data from reliable sources:
Based on the record of CNA, Ecuador exported 1,847,730,000 lb. or 838,116.29 MT of shrimp in 2020-2021 with a value of USD 5,055,070,000.
Based on the record of MPEDA, India exported 1,301,333,618 lb. or 590,275.00 MT of shrimp in 2020-2021 with a value of USD 4,426,190,000.
Based on the record of VASEP, Vietnam exported 1,228,289,730 lb. or 557,142.85 MT of shrimp in 2020-2021 with a value of USD 3,900,000,000
Based on the record of Maria de Fatima Vidal, Brazil exported 1,250,019.54 lb. or 567 MT of shrimp in 2020-2021 with a value of USD 5,620,000.
You are correct, Jack. Ecuador is the leading shrimp exporter now.
India fell to the number 2 position ... probably as a result of the impact of movement restrictions caused by COVID-19 among other complicating reasons e.g. shrimp diseases (like EHP, WFD, RMS, Vibriosis like AHPND, and SHPND, etc.), or high feed costs coupled with low farm gate prices that temporarily discouraged some local shrimp farmers to continue farming shrimp, or because of too many unregulated experts here and there, left and right who are lacking hands-on farm/hatchery experiences and relevant credibilities except for a postgraduate degree diploma and paper publications never needing to pass a government regulated state board licensure examination and without following a standard industry-written code of ethics, that creates more confusion in the field and etcetera.
Calling everyone Mr. but themselves ... with their own mindset of delusional crooked philosophy.
It stated, and I quote: "... the remaining farms are dispersed throughout many countries in Latin America. Brazil, in particular, is the largest shrimp producer in the region"
This statement is incorrect.
Ecuador is the largest shrimp producer in the region (i.e. in Latin America).
I wonder who are the people behind Farm Futurism.
It wasn’t my video Jack. I just reposted it from YouTube because I thought it would be interesting for our group.
Hi Khalid,
This video authored by ‘Farm Futurism’ posted on YouTube on October 7, 2022, is indeed very interesting from the point of view of its ironic narrative content.
It stated and I quote:
“The total global production of farmed shrimp reached more than 1.6 million tonnes in 2003, representing a value of nearly 9 billion U.S. dollars. About 75% of farmed shrimp is produced in Asia, in particular in Thailand and China.”
This statement was literally lifted (i.e. plagiarized) word for word, from a Wikipedia page which was last updated on July 21, 2022.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marine_shrimp_farming
See the first paragraph, sentence three (3), and sentence four (4).

This isn't Farm Futurism but rather Farm Dyscalculia and content plagiarism.
Sickening ... I feel like vomiting on my keyboard.
Thank you for explaining Khalid. I think the video is very old. At least the referred statistics are out of date.
And this image of RAS in the YouTube video was grabbed from the website of Kia AquaFarm Limited located in Vienna, Austria.

There is nothing original in the presentation even the images were all lifted (i.e. downloaded and posted without acknowledgment) from the internet.
And what are the species of those juvenile aquatic animals in the tanks? Definitely not shrimp.
Do you know?
ANSWER: Sturgeons

WoW...I can't believe they are using pictures of Sturgeons to talk about shrimp farming!
You're right, Khalid 👍
Completely shocking
